Optional Google Analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics,” this site loads Google Analytics to help us understand visits, popular pages, and how readers find the site. Google receives information such as the page address, browser and device information, and your internet connection. Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits.
Analytics stays off until you allow it. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google’s consent message gathers the storage choice used for Analytics. In other locations, the reading room asks you separately whether to allow Analytics. This privacy page never loads Analytics, including after you have allowed it on other pages. Choosing “No thanks” leaves the reading room fully available. We do not send the words you type into our search boxes to Analytics. Page addresses sent by our Analytics setup exclude query strings and fragments, which are the extra parts of an address after a question mark or a hash sign.
Google Signals and advertising personalization are turned off in this setup. We do not use your reading here to build religious-interest advertising audiences.
Your cookie choice
Where the reading room’s own Analytics choice is used, your browser saves it on this device for up to six months. This small preference record is stored whether you allow or decline analytics. Google’s consent manager stores choices made through its messages. Use “Cookie choices” in the footer to change your decision. On this privacy page, that button takes you to the home page to open the relevant choices without loading tracking here. Withdrawing permission stops Analytics on subsequent page loads and removes the Analytics cookies this site can access. It does not erase data already processed by Google.
If your browser blocks storage, your choice may not be remembered when you visit another page. Without JavaScript, optional Analytics does not load.
Google Ads and AdSense
Our Analytics property is linked to Google Ads so that we can measure traffic from any future advertising campaigns. Personalized advertising is disabled for that link.
This site has been submitted to Google AdSense for review. Automatic ads and individual ad placements remain off. On reading pages, we load Google’s AdSense code to provide its consent messages and privacy controls. Google receives connection and device information needed to deliver that service. This privacy page does not load the AdSense or Analytics scripts.
Google’s message offers eligible European readers a choice to consent, decline, or manage individual options. Google also provides privacy controls for readers covered by relevant US state rules. Those messages explain the data purposes and list the ad partners. Use the privacy links provided by Google on the page to review advertising choices. Our site configuration requests non-personalized ads; we do not create religious-interest remarketing audiences.

Our hosting and network providers process technical information needed to deliver pages and keep the site running, such as IP addresses and request logs. Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
