You are welcome to be curious
This site began with a simple idea: a community of people learning about the Bible together. That idea still matters. We want to take the subject seriously and make it understandable to anyone who wants to learn.
You do not need to know church language or agree with every idea you encounter here. Bring your questions. Read slowly. Make up your mind thoughtfully.
Our perspective
This is a reading room about the Bible, Jesus, and Christianity, approached from a Christian perspective. We explain the beliefs behind what you read and the language Christians use. Personal reflections express the writer’s own convictions. You are welcome to explore those convictions and ask questions about them.
How we handle differences
We distinguish what a biblical passage says, what can be established about its setting, and how Christians interpret it. Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and other Christian communities do not share every conclusion. We explain when a claim is a historical conclusion, a church teaching, or the writer’s personal response.
Where a reading is disputed, we name the major approaches, explain their reasons, and link to advocates of each. The comparisons explain where the views differ and which traditions hold them. Explore different Christian readings.
